Dr. Monika Weber-Fahr is a development practitioner and thought leader who advises international organizations, multi-stakeholder platforms, businesses, and government agencies on innovative approaches to cooperation, lateral thinking, and results orientation. Monika draws on nearly 30 years of experience with progressive leadership responsibilities in international development finance, stakeholder engagement, and management consulting, with a focus on topics related to sustainability, private sector development (energy, extractives, manufacturing) and knowledge management and learning. Until 2020, Monika served as CEO & Executive Secretary of the Global Water Partnership (GWP), a global action network that supports countries in equitable and sustainable water management. Prior to that, Monika was Chief Operating Officer at Sustainable Energy for All. For over 20 years, Monika worked with the World Bank Group, including as Chief Knowledge Officer for the Independent Evaluation Group and as Director for Knowledge, Learning and Results for Sustainable Development. For the International Finance Corporation (IFC), Monika built the Global Business Line for Sustainable Business Advisory into a thriving practice of non-investment services to IFC clients. In Europe, Monika worked with the Boston Consulting Firm (BCG), mainly on projects in the energy sector. She holds a PhD in Business Economics (Trier University), an MSc in Economics (Warwick University), a Diploma in International Relations (Johns Hopkins University), and a Diploma in Corporate Governance (Financial Times Non-Executive Directors Diploma).  Monika serves as a Board Member with the Austrian Development Bank (OeEB), the Committee on Sustainability Assessment (COSA), and the EIT Climate-KIC Foundation, and she is a member of the Online Educa Berlin (OEB) Global Council.
